With its title as a relaxation center in Southeast Asia, it’s no wonder you find the words ‘day spa’ all over the island of Bali. Want to be scrubbed, flower bathed or pampered? Don’t worry, Bali will accept all these requests. What is often doubted is that economical spas in the halls may not necessarily provide the luxury and comfort you desire. On the other hand, it is not possible to visit resorts which are very expensive, right?

Fortunately, some mid-range body care centers in Bali offer something that budget-friendly spas don’t have. Do you want to relax in the countryside surrounded by Ubud’s green mountains or get scrubbed while enjoying the seductive lapping of the waves in the Indian Ocean? We’ve selected some awesome Day Spas that will take you to a tropical paradise! And all can be enjoyed at an affordable price!

1. Gajah Mina Spa

In the verdant province of Tabanan, on Bali’s tranquil west coast, lies Gajah Minah, a boutique resort with 12 villas. Set in two hectares of tropical gardens, the resort is perched on a promontory overlooking a ‘secret’ beach, nestled between volcanic cliffs.

The spa and massage room at Gajah Minah is located on a headland overlooking the Balian surf spot and Menjan Beach, which are rarely touched by human hands. Unlike other budget spas, you won’t be bothered by the loud noise of the air conditioner, as the cool sea breeze will soothe you. Gajah Mina offers various treatment options, ranging from classic Balinese massage using aromatic oils all over the body, scrubs, facials, and the most interesting thing is a relaxing flower bath.

2. Karsa Spa

Ubud is the spa center of Bali, so the owners of Karsa Spa wanted to create something different. So came the well-trained Reiki massage therapists, organic Ayurvedic oils, eco-friendly philosophies, and relaxation rooms designed and decorated to suit the stunning surroundings. At the top of a small mountain range, this spa area overlooks the green rice fields. The treatment room is nestled between tropical gardens and a majestic waterfall.

After the massage, you can soak in a fragrance at the outdoor spa overlooking the Ubud countryside. The therapists at Karsa are very dedicated and well trained, offering traditional and Reiki treatments at really affordable prices!

3. Bali Eco Village

Set amidst a hill in a hidden valley near the volcano in Kintamani and the traditional village of Pelaga, this eco-friendly inn is 45 km from Ubud, in the mountains of Central Bali. It doesn’t matter whether you stay here or not, visiting the Eco Village Spa is a must if you visit this area.

Built in a traditional Balinese style, the spa room has an old and comfortable feel overlooking a green valley with views of green forests and tropical gardens. The traditional style spa room is the perfect setting for an aromatherapy massage or Balinese body scrub (traditional scrub). With this stunning view, you should make it a part of your relaxation plans!

4. Karma Kandara

Located in the glamorous villa resort of Karma Kandara, the massages here are luxurious and majestic. What makes the spa here feel great is the special massage deck. Towering over the garden overlooking the Indian Ocean, the luxurious body treatments here will take your every worry away. As long as you’re not afraid of heights! The maintenance costs here are slightly higher compared to other places. But for a uniquely luxurious experience, we think spending a little extra is well worth it.

5. Banjar Hot Spring, Lovina

Known locally as Banjar Hot Springs, this is not an expensive spa, but you can feel the sensation of bathing in sacred hot springs in the middle of Bali’s jungle. Located in a beautiful garden adjacent to Lovina Beach in North Bali, this 37-degree sulfuric water can soothe and heal aches, pains, muscle aches and other ailments. This bath is built of stone that is centuries old. Don’t worry because this hot spring is always updated with modern facilities from time to time.

These hot springs gush from the eight mouths of the Stone Dragon into a large pool before flowing into smaller pools below. Beside this pool, there are three Naga heads that issue a four-meter-high ‘waterfall’ and the locals believe that if you sit under it, you will get a powerful massage effect and feel reborn.
